Chill out

God has got this. He has your life in the palms of His sovereign and robust self. I read yesterday that more people commit suicide in December than any other month. This fact is crazy. I want to encourage you this morning to simply Chill out! Don’t let the pressure of this holiday season stress you out. The Christmas season has been set aside to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace, not to cause undue anxiety on you.

Before the Immanuel Prophecy in Isaiah Chapter 7, The Prophet tells King Ahaz (One of King David’s descendants) to calm down and be quiet. Isaiah is reminding this weak little King that God is in control. He is reminding the King, that God’s plan A, will always be carried out to the letter, so he should not be afraid or cowardly. As my mentor, Jerry Moore used to say, “He is either Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all.”

God, speaking through the Prophet, tells the little King Man, “If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.” This statement is an excellent reminder for us today. When the stress of the Holiday season creeps in, push it away remembering that God has a plan. We can celebrate the prophecy today because God is with us. He is much more than some plastic baby in a manger that dot’s nativity scenes all over the world. He is alive and well and still very capable of bringing peace to those who are weary and worn out.

The Prince of Peace is calling to you! He says come to me. I wonder, do you know Him? Don’t let the stress of the holiday rush bring you down. The Bible tells us “For all who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Call on Him today!

I love you all!
