In the past year and a half, I have been noticing a trend that we as a people are going to have to think through. We have become so desensitized and overwhelmed by all that is taking place in the news around us. The 24-hour news outlets which are led by the extreme fanatics on the right and left drone continually with their politically laced communications, bombarding overwhelmed Americans with a non-stop message of self-interest.
We have entered into some strange times. Digesting all that is going on in the world is impossible. It is easy for us to become ostriches and bury our heads in the sand. I want to encourage you not to allow this to happen. We as believers need to enter into open dialogue and formulate a specific plan. Hopefully, this strategy will help us find our voice again and stop allowing the white noise from suffocating us. The definition of white noise is merely this: A sound containing many frequencies with equal intensities. White noise is a type of noise produced by combining sounds of all of the different wavelengths. If you took all of the imaginable tones that a human can hear and mixed them, you would have white noise. Because white noise contains all frequencies, it is frequently used to mask other sounds. If you have ever experienced this process, you know how tedious and aggravating it is. To me, it sounds like loud static.
My point in writing this blog is simple! I want us to consider and understand that being overwhelmed by the regular biased information broadcast every minute of the day, tends to make everything sound the same. We have become so calloused to what dominates the headline every day. Many have chosen not to deal with provocative issues for fear of seeming intolerant. Events and actions taking place around the globe should cause significant distress for Christ followers. But because of all of the static, our moral compasses have been skewed and no longer leading us in the right direction. This instance creates a colossal dilemma for followers of Christ. Our standard is the Bible. The Bible requires us to sift through the white noise. As believers, we cannot stand by while so many injustices are taking place. You have to stand for something, or you will fall for everything. I am praying for a Biblical revolution to sweep the landscape. I stand ready to lift the Banner of Jesus and become salt and light to a dark and bland world. We have to return to what we know is right. Jesus is still the answer to all of the questions. His name always brings peace and hope. I want to encourage you to make much of HIM today!
Which way is your moral compass leading you? True north is Jesus, and we are to keep our eyes on Him.
I love you all!
