Dream Dream Dream

Welcome Back…

“…If God is for us, who is against us?” Romans 8:31b HCSB

I was thinking about one of my favorite TV shows from the 70’s this morning and could not help but smile. I loved the show called “Welcome Back Kotter”. The story was about a teacher who went back home to teach a group of students that were a lot like he was when he attended high school. His Principal offered him no hope for ever making it out of the neighborhood when he was a student. He (the teacher) returned, because he wanted to offer those students in his old school hope. He wanted them to know that if they worked, they could make it out. One of my fondest memories about this show was the rock-in theme song, the opening line in the song went like this “Welcome back…your dreams are your ticket out…” This situation comedy truly taught me that my dreams, were my ticket out. I love to dream. I have always been a dreamer. I have always looked forward to sleep because of the vivid dreams that I have. There was a brief period of time in my life when I lost my dreams. I kind of went through a dark night of the soul and could not dream. I would sleep, but with the sleep no dreams would happen. I had disconnected for some reason away from something that I thoroughly enjoyed. I want to tell you that God gave me back my dreams. I have found that by spending time with Him and in His word have allowed me to dream again. I have also found that by reading great books have stimulated my dream life. I have quite the eclectic reading habits. I love reading great adventure books, by great authors who have done amazing things. One of my recent favorite reads is a book called “At the Mercy of the Sea” by John Kretschmer. What a great book. Can I ask you what are you dreaming about today? Do you realize that God has plans for you? His word teaches us to “delight yourselves in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” God wants you to succeed and to be fulfilled in our relationship with Him! Our God is truly an amazing and awesome God. You may be going through some struggles right now and it may seem that your 10 million miles away in your relationship with Him. I want to remind you that the return trip, is only one step. All you have to do is reach out and take a hold of His hand. Scripture teaches if God is for us, who is able to be against us. I learned along time ago that God plus one is a majority. I want to tell you that it is not because of the one. He is God, so that always makes Him the majority! Can I encourage you to take the step back? And by the way…welcome back, your dreams are your way out! I love you all<><
