If I had a hammer…Useful to the Master

Useful to the Master…

“All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 HCSB

I have an old hammer that belonged to my father’s father that I am very proud to own. It is an old school hammer, the handle has been replaced but in looking at the hammer, you can tell that it has struck millions of nails since its creation. What is so special about the hammer, nothing really other than the fact it belonged to my grandfather. I was determined to use this hammer. So I would take it on mission trips, use it around the house, made me feel a little nostalgic knowing that my grand father used this hammer for years. But I learned something about that hammer! Even though it is very special to me, hammers today are better. One day I accidentally left my hammer behind and got to the work site without one! Some gracious volunteer, loaned me an Estwing hammer and I cold not believe the difference! I must admit, I felt kind of guilty liking it! It was an awesome hammer! It was easier to use, more effective in nailing; in my hand I could feel the difference! Have you ever thought about how effective you are in the hand of the Master? When we make ourselves totally available to the Master, He equips us for every good work! Lordship means letting the Master have control of your life! Scripture enables us to better understand what God has for us! It is profitable! Are you allowing the Master to use you? I pray that you are! I love you all!
