1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.
2. Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for his life
3. Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him you can know and experience God’s love and plan for you life.
4. We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives.
…We’re afraid its all been wasted time…! These powerful words from an old Eagles song from the 70’s probably rings truer today than they did 30 years ago. We gripe and complain that we don’t have enough time to accomplish the things that should take priority in our lives. But in reality, we waste an exorbitant amount of time on nothing of consequence. I can only imagine the facial expressions that you are making now; you’re saying wow, you sure are being condemning, you know nothing about what I am dealing with and all of the things that are currently on my plate. And the truth is, that I really don’t know all that you are dealing with. But God does. He knows exactly where you are in life. He knows exactly what is taking place during the 10,080 seconds that you have each week. He knows the amount of time you have and how much time you waste. So before you get all bent out of shape, I want you to consider some things. I also have been doing some critical self evaluation about the amount of time that I spend doing nothing. I realize and feel conviction for the time I squander. God gives us time, it is a resource, so how we use it requires serious thought. Time is important, so the things that I give my time to, need to take precedence. Recently I attended a meeting where nothing of substance was really accomplished. What was so crazy about this meeting is that after the meeting was over, I found my self standing around talking with others about how much we accomplished. I remember walking away thinking wow, did I miss something, did I fall a sleep during the meeting? I could not think of one thing that we accomplished. All I remember is thinking, this is one hour and fifteen minutes of my life that I will never get back. Then I started thinking about the amount of time I spend on things that mean nothing to the kingdom of God. I spend time talking with complete strangers about the taste of coffee, or what lure seems to be working in the lakes in Keystone. We find ourselves talking about sports, the weather and any varied a sundry of topics that never accomplishing anything. I think about what we (believers) have been tasked with. Dr. Danny Akin says in his book “Five who changed the world” that “Matthew 28 begins with a resurrection and ends with a commission. These final words of our Lord are weighty, heavy and not easily digested.” How are you spending your time on the things that truly matter?Current church trends from leading Christian magazines inform us that 97% of believers either never, or very seldom share their faith with others! I thought about that number in astonishment and began to wonder why! I think that I may have figured it out; I believe it is because we are talking so much about insignificant things like sports victories or new Vera Bradley prints that we forget about the main thing. Someone once said “we have to keep the main thing (Jesus) the main thing. Can we be real? When was the last time that you shared your faith or testimony with a lost person? We have to be conversational, we need get the people that we influence talking about Jesus! The gospel still matters, so tell someone today! I love you all!
