I love this beautiful old song. It is a reminder to me each day to consider the simplicity of my relationship with Jesus. I can go back to the time when my life was radically changed because of my faith. This event brings peace and comfort to me when my soul is troubled. All I have to do is trust in Him.
God has got this. He has your life in the palms of His sovereign and robust self. I read yesterday that more people commit suicide in December than any other month. This fact is crazy. I want to encourage you this morning to simply Chill out! Don’t let the pressure of this holiday season stress you out. The Christmas season has been set aside to celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace, not to cause undue anxiety on you.
Lend me your hope for awhile,
I seem to have mislaid mine.
Lost and hopeless feelings accompany me daily,
pain and confusion are my companions.
I know not where to turn; looking ahead to future times does
not bring forth images of renewed hope.
I see troubled times, pain-filled days, and more tragedy.
I am writing to the membership and friends of the POINT this morning with a major prayer request for our church. If possible, I am asking that each of you share this post with all of your praying friends. I am believing that God is going to do something great in this unique challenge that we are facing as a church plant.
Darkness, un-forgiveness and hate…
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. (1 Timothy 2:5-8)
